Hunger
Franck Vigroux
Franck Vigroux’s new electronic opera Hunger traces the initiatory journey of a character going under the mounting pressure of modernity, and whose most deeply buried archaic impulses resurface. Against the backdrop of a rural territory marked by exodus and uprooting, electronic music, video and light become inhabited presences, dialogue between voice and stage to compose an immersive, polyphonic performance. Through a dense writing carved out of sound, gesture and image, Hunger brings forth a transformative mental landscape, traversed by memory, instinct and the mutations of the contemporary world.
