Hunger, Franck Vigroux’s new electronic opera, traces the initiatory journey of a character who, under the mounting pressure of modernity, sees their most deeply buried archaic impulses resurface. Against the backdrop of a rural territory marked by exodus and uprooting, electronic music, video and light become inhabited presences, entering into dialogue with the voice and the stage to compose an immersive, polyphonic performance. Through a dense writing carved out of sound, gesture and image, Hunger brings forth a transforming mental landscape, traversed by memory, instinct and the mutations of the contemporary world.
