communities

For more than forty years, Musica has been dedicated to expand the experience of new and experimental music. The festival is driven by the desire to multiply perspectives, spark encounters between artists and audiences, take music beyond traditional venues, and make performances accessible to all.

The festival has progressively sought to reach a broader and more diverse audience by connecting artistic projects with social and generational issues, while forming a strong local basis. This anchoring aims to build above all mutual understanding with the various local audiences. Through an umbrella of outreach initiatives, Musica strives to create genuine communities of spectators and sharing spaces where everyone can find their place within the festival, and get involved as listeners, performers, or even audience-programmers.

The diversity of voices and paths is a valuable ressource, and Musica's communities allow us each year to explore new artistic fields while maintaining a living relationship with the repertoire of contemporary music.

The audience is indispensable to artistic expression today — making art is inseparable from its reception.
