Creative Freedom and Inclusivity: Tensions and Resources in Europe

By putting the dynamics observed at the European level into perspective, this session examines the frameworks within which creative freedom, freedom of expression, the fight against discrimination, and respect for fundamental rights are currently articulated. It examines the tensions that run through the practices of creation, programming, and dissemination of works, in a context marked by growing questions about the conditions under which these activities are carried out. This event aims to highlight the resources, initiatives, and protective frameworks mobilized at the European level to defend artistic freedom and support cultural actors facing these challenges.

With Sara Whyatt, activist and researcher in the field of artistic freedom of expression and human rights (England); Andrea Voets, artistic director of Resonate Productions (Netherlands); Nathalie Négro and Perrine Vestraeten, artistic director and executive director of the company Piano and Co (France); Lara Alcázar Miranda, member of MIM—Mujeres de la industria de la música (Spain)

In partnership with Festival Musica and La Muse en Circuit – CNCM, as part of the RISE production platform supported by the French Ministry of Culture.
