Trigger warning: strobe effects, loud/high-pitched sounds, haze, futuristic medical scenes.
Four years after his monumental Asterism, Alexander Schubert returns to Strasbourg to present his latest reflection on the connections between music, technology, and contemporary identities.
Eternal Dawn is a staged piece focused on the theme of transhumanism, brought to life by the Decoder Ensemble and a large team of multidisciplinary artists and scientists. In a futuristic environment, the musicians transform into cyborgs equipped with sensors and bodily extensions. As they interact and evolve in these bio-altered forms, the performers become instruments of meaning, exposing the tensions and implications of a transhuman future.
