Jessica Ekomane + Conlon Nancarrow
La Nòvia
La Nòvia explores the boundaries between traditional music and experimental practices through works by Conlon Nancarrow and a new commission from sound artist Jessica Ekomane.
La Nòvia is a collective based in Haute-Loire, whose members explore the boundaries between traditional music and experimental practices. In 2025, they took on the work of Conlon Nancarrow (1912–1997), a process-based composer best known for his famous Studies for Player Piano. A selection of his works has been arranged for an ensemble combining classical and traditional instruments (hurdy-gurdy, bagpipes, banjo, etc.), and an original creations by electronic musician and sonic artist Jessica Ekomane complete the programme.
