In Bolivia, the Orquesta Experimental de Instrumentos Nativo (OEIN) is a unique contemporary music ensemble. Founded in 1980, it has been dedicated to preserving the musical traditions of the Andes, especially those of the Aymara Indigenous people, while also creating new works. With sikus (pan flutes) and other traditional instruments, members of the OEIN share their practices and knowledge, while raising awareness about the decolonisation movements in South America. They perform as "two pairs" (dos pares), echoing an ancestral practice: the art of playing in duo, built on reciprocity and balance.
