What if the hobby horse became your companion? Johana Beaussart invents a whimsical epic, somewhere between performed concert and baroque cabaret. Alone on stage with Purcell, a disenchanted horse’s head, she unfolds songs, dialogues, visions, and derailments, carried by a voice that is by turns lyrical, spoken, ventriloquised, or electronically transformed. In an organic pop idiom shot through with dark humour and intimate ritual, the artist composes a sensory journey in which the absurd becomes a joyful yet troubled way of confronting inheritances, injunctions, and human finitude.
