What remains of our concert experiences, many years later? Do we recall the artists' performances, the name of the composers, and the musical piece itself? Or do they blur with time in our memory, losing their distinct features and outlines to only keep that tension, that one fleeting feeling? While some details fade away, some are more persistent - an abrupt change of timber, sustained silence, a progressive rise in intensity, an unexpected gesture, or a general physical feeling experienced in the room. Time transposes the score within the body and the mind, leaving traces in the shape of emotion, surprise, strangeness or cheekiness from the composers.
This programme was inspired by conversations with the loyal spectator and faithful attendee of the festival Catherine Blanck. The concert will be followed by a representation for the residents and their families along with the staff of the senior residence where she lives.
