What if the stick horse became your hobby? Johana Beaussart invents a whimsical epic, halfway between performed concert and baroque cabaret. On stage with Purcell the disenchanted stick horse, she presents songs, dialogues, visions, and dissonances with a voice either lyrical, spoken, ventriloquised, or modified electronically. The artist composes a sensory journey in an organic pop music coupled with dark humour and intimate ritual, in which the absurd becomes a joyful yet troubled way of confronting legacy, injunctions, and human finitude.
