Obscure yet remarkable, Kassia was one of the first women composers whose music has survived the passage of time. Lara Barsacq draws on this legacy in Kassia Undead, a choreographic journey between archive, fiction and ritual. Eight performers — dancers and singers — summon ancient chants, living tableaux and spectral figures in a ceremony where East and West, past and present, sacred and profane come into friction. Between historical resurgence and theatrical invention, the work reactivates a buried memory, turning the stage into a space of haunting and transformation.
