From Encounter to Shared Curatorship

Through a range of education and outreach activities, the Musica team came to know the audience members who then participated in the curation of the 2025 edition: Léonard Sanchez as an amateur musician in the Scratch Orchestra; Oriane Barloy and Léonore Derrida through an audience discovery programme undertaken as part of their master’s studies; and Pascal Normandin through his initiative to make audience engagement more accessible.

The festival’s close relationship with the Haute École des Arts du Rhin also gave rise to the programme for 4 October, curated by eleven students working across art, performance, music and composition.

Reflecting their interests and concerns, the works they selected rekindle our curiosity about the world around us and invite us to listen anew: to the natural, non-human world in the works of Knud Viktor and John Luther Adams, and to a world of another time and place in Contra la Extinción.
