Communities

For more than forty years, Musica has been dedicated to opening up the experience of new and experimental music. The festival is driven by a desire to multiply perspectives, spark encounters between artists and audiences, take music beyond traditional venues, and make every performance accessible to all.

The festival has progressively sought to reach a broader and more diverse audience by connecting artistic projects with social and generational issues, while consolidating a strong local grounding. This anchoring is built above all on a desire for mutual understanding with the region's audiences. Through a variety of outreach initiatives, Musica strives to create genuine communities of spectators – spaces of sharing where everyone can find their place within the festival and become involved as listeners, performers, or even audience-programmers.

The diversity of voices and paths is a source of richness, and Musica's communities allow us each year to explore new artistic fields while maintaining a living relationship with the repertoire of contemporary music.

The audience is indispensable to artistic expression today — making art is inseparable from its reception.
