Silvia Costa met en scène un récital théâtral autour de la figure de Galina Ustvolskaya (1919-2006).
Silvia Costa stages the piano sonatas by Russian composer Galina Ustvolskaja (1919–2006), a student of Dmitri Shostakovich, whose radical and deeply personal artistic approach broke with not only her teacher’s style but also Soviet expectations. In allusion to her rough and percussive compositional style, she became **known as ‘the woman with a hammer’.
