Born in Guadeloupe and trained in New York with George Lewis, Alyssa Regent shapes a music that feels deeply inhabited — attuned to the inner tremors of sound and to the delicate thresholds of listening. In Mors Osculi, drawing on texts by the Renaissance poet Louise Labé, she entwines word and music within an intimate dramaturgy. Her writing, both sensuous and contemplative, carves out sonic landscapes animated by breath, memory, and desire.
