Drawing on encounters with patients, caregivers and healthcare professionals, as well as on her own experience of illness, Violaine Lochu created a multidisciplinary project from protection songs. She resorts to vocals, graphic scores, costumes, amulets and ornaments to create a secular ritual, fed by intimate stories, spiritual traditions and minimalist aesthetics. These songs mean to create an inner space in which to protect oneself, to remain grounded in the world and to form a whole with others.
