Founded in 2005 by the Groupe de Recherches Musicales (INA GRM), the festival PRÉSENCES électronique carries forward the legacy of an institution that played a pioneering role in the development of musique concrète and acousmatic art. Musica has invited the festival to curate a carte blanche centred on its iconic Acousmonium, an orchestra of loudspeakers. The works of Eve Aboulkheir, Jessica Ekomane, Maria W Horn, Philippe Gordiani, Jim O’Rourke, and François J. Bonnet create a vast field of listening, faithful to the spirit of the GRM: making sound projection a physical, spatial, and collective experience.
