This double recital explores numerous aspects of Georges Aperghis' writing, who pioneered in considering instrumental language as a theatrical gesture. In Obstinate (2017–18), the double bass becomes a body under tension, engaged in a sharp solo. Black Light (2019) opens a field of dark resonances shaped by scordaturas and deep harmonics. Finally, Trompe-oreille (2026), composed for trumpet and electronics, takes the form of a sonic ritual in which the performer summons multiple worlds, both human and animal, of a trance-like intensity.
