Preventing and Responding to Gender-Based and Sexual Violence
Musica is committed to ensuring an artistic, professional, and public environment that is safe, respectful, and inclusive for everyone. In accordance with the recommendations of the French Ministry of Culture, the festival implements a policy for preventing and handling gender-based and sexual violence.
A Shared Commitment
All festival teams — management, administration, technical staff, welcome, mediation — have received awareness training on the risks of gender-based and sexual violence, conducted by Groupe Egae, an organization recognized for combating discrimination and violence in the cultural sector.
Designated Contacts
Throughout the festival, two designated contacts are available to listen, provide guidance, and support anyone wishing to report inappropriate behaviour:
Céline Hentz, Project manager, community & engagement
Thomas Werlé, Head of development & communications
These contacts have received specific training to:
provide a safe and supportive space for disclosure,
listen without judgement,
and, if necessary, initiate an internal procedure in coordination with the festival’s management.
They can be reached at the dedicated address: parole@festivalmusica.fr
A Visible and Active Policy
Prevention and information posters are displayed in all festival venues and at our partners’ locations, in both public reception areas and professional spaces, so that everyone knows who to contact and how to respond in the event of a problematic situation.
A Space for Professional Dialogue
For several editions now, Musica has hosted meetings on equality in music with the French national network for new music, Futurs Composés — a space for dialogue and mobilisation bringing together artists, institutions, and organisations from the cultural sector. These meetings, coordinated with stakeholders in musical creation and partners engaged in equality policies, contribute to advancing practices collectively, sharing tools, and placing the fight against violence and discrimination at the heart of artistic dynamics.
