Artists, curators and researchers examine decolonisation in the arts and the representation of Indigenous artists, comparing perspectives from Europe and North America.
What does it mean to be an artist from a marginalised community today? Are we witnessing genuine change in how these artists are represented within cultural institutions in general, and in the music world in particular? As part of a broader focus on contemporary creation in Quebec and Canada, this roundtable brings together artists and specialists in Indigenous recognition and decolonial issues, to critically examine institutional practices and initiatives that aim to redefine power dynamics in the contemporary creative field.
