Danish composer Hans Abrahamsen was affiliated with the ‘New Simplicity’ trend in the 1970s and, from his early days, demonstrated a return to melody and harmony, also following the teachings of György Ligeti. His radically pared-down masterpiece Schnee is a reflection on the theme of the canon, which plays on perspective and the absorption of listening.
