The French ensemble 2e2m joins forces with Spółdzielnia Muzyczna to present a wide-ranging panorama of the Polish avant-garde.

Poland’s creative scene is thriving, with a new generation transforming the musical landscape. Steeped in the legacies of 20th-century luminaries such as Szymanowski, Górecki, and Penderecki, this generation is also deeply engaged in the country’s political and social transformations as well as in the broader European project. Warsaw and Krakow are the epicentres of this vibrant renewal, driven by festivals such as Warsaw Autumn, Sacrum Profanum, and Unsound—all proving fertile ground for exceptional ensembles such as Spółdzielnia Muzyczna (Musical Cooperative), which Musica has chosen to spotlight this year. Together with Léo Margue and the French ensemble 2E2M, they present a panorama of the Polish scene, showcasing its rare ability to absorb and share diverse influences while projecting them into new dimensions.
