A cine-concert by Piotr Peszat, set to one of the earliest feature films in cinema history (1903).

Drawing on The Life and Passion of Jesus Christ (1903) by Lucien Nonguet and Ferdinand Zecca—one of the earliest feature films in cinema history, painstakingly hand-coloured—Polish composer Piotr Peszat presents a unique ciné-concert (film screening with live musical accompaniment). In this version, the footage has been subtly reworked, and the famously central figure is no longer the focus. His disappearance does not seem to stem from sabotage, nor from any overtly blasphemous intent. So what, then, might be the meaning behind this edited cut?
