Último helecho is a show born from field research into popular and Baroque repertoires in South America, particularly in Argentina. Alongside Nadia Larcher, a key figure in contemporary Argentine folk music, and six traditional musicians, Nina Laisné and François Chaignaud continue their quest for a performance in which vocal and choreographic expression are woven together, without ever overshadowing one another. Traditional dances such as zamba, chacarera and cueca, along with the bodies, rhythms, and songs with androgynous voices, reveal the culture and memory of communities oppressed by colonisation. An act of recognition and an underground celebration intertwined with South American mythologies.
